Qatar National Day and Soccer Tournament

Well, we are finally on holidays.  It is 2 pm local time Wednesday, Nate is sawing logs and the three of us are just hangin' around.  Lindsay has been scouring the internet for ways to get out of here.  All of our neighbours are off to Australia, Italy South Africa etc.  And...we are in Doha.

On the bright side of things, we will be able to save some s money!

It is Qatar National Day and there are celebrations going on all over the city.  We were told to avoid them as it is chaos at the best of times around here and on days like today, it gets even more difficult to get around.  That is hard to believe.

There is lots to update you on so I will being with what we did last night...

We went to the Aspire Zone for our boys under 18 International HADAF Football (Soccer) Tournament.  The facility is a state of the art sportsplex with everything that you can shake a stick at.  Pretty impressive.  Aislyn and Nate had a great time running around, I got to watch some decent soccer and Linds was shopping at Villagio Mall.

The Aspire Zone.  A state of the art sports facility designed for international sporting
events and to combat Qatar's ever increasing obesity crisis.

The soccer pitch.  My students are in green.

Perfect backdrop to a b-ball court!
